Alright, Christmas is starting to, well, start and I LOVE Christmas. No, actually, I LOVE the time before Christmas; the decoration, the cities beautifully lit up and all the great food you get everywhere.
Yesterday I met a friend, I will call her C henceforth, in Kingston and we went to the tent Christmas market there and had lots of fun. We went from stall to stall and chatted with the vendors. We had a very interesting chat when I pointed out to one of the jewelry sellers that one of his stones looked like a penis and he agreed and had a good laugh (I didn't buy the penis stone, though). Then we went to another stall where we could cut wood with a wood cutter (what a surprise!) and I talked in French with them, as they were French. It is so funny how completely happy Frenchmen are when you can speak their tongue. We did the obligatory round that you always do at Christmas markets and then you promise the hopeful vendors to buy their shit (sorry, stuff) and, in fact, you never return and only start buying things when you come to the food market. We each bought a package of sugar and cinnamon cashews (soooo delicious) and C got some olives and other stuff the seller managed to talk her into. The Christmas lights were on already and wandering through the city was just wonderful and Christmassy, especially as it is FINALLY cold now and we were happy freezing and complaining about the cold. I will now enter the Christmas season on this blog and will treat you with some pictures soon, promise. I can only tell you this, so far, I know already that England is so far ahead regarding Christmas than is Austria...sorry, Austria.
