Today's task: Countries A-Z: Name a country beginning with every letter of the alphabet.
Austria Belgium Canada Denmark England France Greece Hungary Ireland Jordan Kazakhstan Lithuania Moldova Nigeria Oman Portugal Qatar Romania Spain Ukraine Venezuela Weißrussland (I know it's German. If you come up with any English ones, comment) Xamaica (This is Galician spelling, if you find one, comment). Yemen Zimbabwe If any of these are not real countries, comment. I didn't look any up (except Xamaica), so I might be wrong. Task 2 simply asks: What's your superhero power? I think it would be bringing stories to life, as Mo in Ink Heart by Cornelia Funke. That seems to be a cool superpower. I would be WordWoman (is that cheesy?) or probably StoryGirl (ok, that's stupid)... I would also love to be able to have telekinetic skills, but I can always keep dreaming, can't I?

The streets and cities are now lit and I beam whenever I see them.
I went to Teddington (well, frankly, to this one long street) to check it out, but the stores there mostly only open at ten or eleven o'clock (they are no chain stores, but these little independent ones which are on the one side wonderful to explore because they're individual, on the other side, there is no one inside but one lurking sales person who hovers over you, asking every seven seconds whether you need any assistance. So, as I was there in my three-hour-break (which is from half past nine to half past eleven), I didn't really get to go to the stores and it was kind of wasted time because in the broad daylight the decoration does not look really good. Anyway, I visited Kingston, all lit up, and it is just wonderful. Also, to keep you up with my writing progress, I am not doing so well with post-editing (simply because it is boring), but I am working on a horror story now that I really like and the Marionettes are on, too, so we'll see... On Friday my best friend is coming and I am looking forward to exploring the cities together with her, as being on my own all the time starts to suck a bit. We're going to go up to London, Kingston, probably Richmond and Teddington, and I will keep you posted! Cheers! Just one more...
This task says: Spell out the numbers - how far can you get before you reach the letter "A"? I did it, really, and there are no "as" in numbers until thousand. Honestly, I hadn't thought about that and "a" normally is, like, everywhere. It is the limelight bitch of letters, usually. But somehow "a" decided to abandon all number until thousand and leave them to all these other terrible letters like x, e, or n. Honestly, "a", be ashamed. So, there was a lot of writing involved in that and now I am tired of counting and I am quite cross with "a", which is, when you're called Anja, quite stupid. So, have a nice night, X, NJ Alright, Christmas is starting to, well, start and I LOVE Christmas. No, actually, I LOVE the time before Christmas; the decoration, the cities beautifully lit up and all the great food you get everywhere.
Yesterday I met a friend, I will call her C henceforth, in Kingston and we went to the tent Christmas market there and had lots of fun. We went from stall to stall and chatted with the vendors. We had a very interesting chat when I pointed out to one of the jewelry sellers that one of his stones looked like a penis and he agreed and had a good laugh (I didn't buy the penis stone, though). Then we went to another stall where we could cut wood with a wood cutter (what a surprise!) and I talked in French with them, as they were French. It is so funny how completely happy Frenchmen are when you can speak their tongue. We did the obligatory round that you always do at Christmas markets and then you promise the hopeful vendors to buy their shit (sorry, stuff) and, in fact, you never return and only start buying things when you come to the food market. We each bought a package of sugar and cinnamon cashews (soooo delicious) and C got some olives and other stuff the seller managed to talk her into. The Christmas lights were on already and wandering through the city was just wonderful and Christmassy, especially as it is FINALLY cold now and we were happy freezing and complaining about the cold. I will now enter the Christmas season on this blog and will treat you with some pictures soon, promise. I can only tell you this, so far, I know already that England is so far ahead regarding Christmas than is Austria...sorry, Austria. Ok, ok, ok, it's been a long time since I have written something in here but I was, can you believe that, living my life!!
Yes, exactly. I have a life again. The past two weeks was all settling in, nannying, crying, being happy, discussing, etc, etc, etc... Regarding my pointless project...I did a lot of tasks, but am lacking behind with keeping you posted and I apologise for that. However, the book is starting to annoy me, as the author, Mr. Deyes, seems quite narcissistic (though, if I had written a successful book I would probably mention myself as well on every other page, but as I haven't, Mr. Deyes just keeps rubbing me in that he is more successful than me and so I am starting to despise him). Anyway, before I am proceeding to tell you about my other things going on, I tell you today's task: 20 Facts about me 1. creative 2. mostly hate my hair (because it is frizzy and actually very boring) 3. I am a little crazy (at least that is what people keep telling me) 4. I am a big Harry Potter fan (in fact, I bought a HP pair of pajama trousers today) 5. I love to dance although I am getting increasingly worse at it 6. I can bake brownies exquisitely (at least that is what people tell me) 7. love my man; well, who wouldn't 8. I love to write and, in fact, I am convinced that it is one of the few things I can do well 9. I have blue eyes (nothing more to be said about that) 10. hate my thighs (well, who wouldn't: pale and cellulitey) 11, want to be a writer (actually, I am, but, honestly, it doesn't count if you're unpublished, right?) 12. I am scared of spiders and still don't understand why they wander our world. 13. I am a hypochondriac. Well, not really bad, but bad enough to visit the doctor too often 14. enjoy time with my family - although some people who know my family might doubt that, but it is true 15. have many complexes and I am often self-conscious about myself and my abilities 16. I can sing/write songs 17. I don't drink enough water (unfortunately...) 18. love pasta and coke (coca cola, just to be clear) 19. can entertain children (I even have a reference for that) 20. I love fashion (not in a size zero way, I mean, look at me, but I enjoy fashion and trends) I spent the whole day nannying, which was great and now I am sitting here, doing my pointless task today. I went to the playground and enjoyed watching a child's innocence and general happiness of life, which always makes my problems seem less important and I cheer up. I also managed to do some writing today (my horror story) and I think it is really going well at the moment although I think the publishing will be really difficult, the longer I try, the harder it gets to motivate myself to actually send manuscripts to them, but, hey, I'm not there yet and will keep on trying. Alright, my task for today is drawing this maze and I think I didn't do too bad. At the beginning I thought it was just stupid because I was caught into some stupid circle which seemed to go one for ever. However, in the end, I managed to do it and here it is! I know the photo's pretty bad but somehow I think the shadow of me taking the picture is kind of cool. So here I know I delayed my post, but as I didn't get any helpful propositions from you that, I think I've earned a break.
The solutions to the riddles are: 1. the wind 2. Twelve! Second of January, second of February, etc. 3. An Umbrella (I first said my mood...) 4. A window. Anyway, the reason why I didn't write yesterday was because I moved in with my new family for which I work as a nanny for their adorable children. For reasons of discretion, I will not write about them here and if I ever refer to them, only as "the family". However, they are adorable and after host's house, my new room is just fantastic. I also dressed up as Elsa yesterday for a party and it was fantastic. I had to sing "Let it go" and think I really blew it, but the children liked it nevertheless (except for one boy who started crying when I came in). Anyway, for today the task is actually really cool. It says: "Make up a story of the following words: World, Pizza, Fingernail, Comb, Sleep, Hilarious, Hair, Tweet, Friends, Freckle." So here we go... Once upon a time in a world completely different than ours, there was a little princess who had hilarious hair, it was all pink and frizzy and although she used a comb, her hair was just not to be tamed. Because of her frizzy hair, she had no friends and was very lonely. People at the street pointed at her and laughed about her hair. The princess of cried because of that because all she wanted to have was a single friend. One day she was going through the forest, sad and lonely, and then she heard a bird tweet: Go on, go one, little princess, don't you cry, There is a girl around here, far more shy. She's freckled all over the face, and lives in a terribly lonesome space. The hilariously haired princess followed the bird's tweets and soon found the other lonely girl. She had freckles everywhere and one big freckle right on her nose. The little princess thought she was very pretty with all her freckles. "I am the princess with the hilarious hair", she introduced herself. "I am the awfully freckled girl", the awfully freckled girl responded and they decided to stay friends forever. "And as a sign of true friendship we will both paint our fingernail red, agreed?" "Agreed." They both painted their one fingernail red and decided to keep it that way forever. On their way home, they went to grab a pizza because their new friendship made them so hungry. The little princess invited the freckled girl to live with her in the castle, and they both were so happy to be not lonely anymore. They stopped caring about being the princess with the hilarious hair and the girl with the awful freckles and actually started to like their hair and freckles. When they went to sleep that night, the awfully freckled girl said to the hilariously haired princess: "I am not lonely anymore and I found a best friend. I am happy to be here with you. Good night." "I am happy to be your friend, too", the little princess responded and squeezed her best friend's hand. "Good night." Alright, got all words covered, I hope you like it. See you tomorrow. Before I tell you about my task today...I ordered an adult Harry Potter colouring book and I am exhilarated!!
It came today (I also ordered it today, Amazon Prime is great), only for me to realise that I had forgotten to buy pencils, so the drawing needs to be delayed until tomorrow or so, but if I draw anything fancy, I will share it with you. Alright, the tasks. Not really good ones today, either. I will accomplish the task on page 15 and page 16 today. Page 15 is pretty odd, I don't like it. Here it says "Invent a Catchphrase" and as an example it says "Oh my Deyes" (the author's called Deyes) and he seems to pop up a lot in the book...annoying. Anyway, I can't think of any particularly good catchphrases, but if you do, just comment and share them. I don't think it's a catchphrase but I have "This gets my ovaries going" (instead of my heart going) and it is said when a woman sees a cute child. I used to say "Hola el hada del bosque" for some time, but I didn't come up with this as it is simply Spanish for Hola, forest fairy", and it exists in German already. I am normally really good with words, but I can't get my head around this, so I will just give you a list of words I came up with instead and add a definition. Note that most of them originate from German and, thus, look a little odd. I also say "Oh Golly" a lot these days, is it a catchphrase, though? Höggele: a small, steep hill Boakal: a small, flatish hill Krülerle: a small thing, can be a drop on a necklace or the eye boogers or some pecks of dust, etc. Fröbi: a Yeti like creature that is really sweet, a sweet-charactered person I'll add some more when I come to think of them and am less tired...promise... Alright, next task: Pointless Riddles: 1. I travel a lot - in fact I've been to every country in the world! I'm invisible but you can sometimes see me. 2. How many seconds are in one year? 3. What goes up when the rain comes down? 4. I'm an ancient invention that allows you to see through walls. What am I? Ok, I will give these riddles a thought, but I ask you to write your suggestions as well, if you have any. See you tomorrow. Today I met Tina. She is Host's friend and he was telling me about her all the time, and she is really cool. She looks like a witch and I mean that in the most positive way. She has grey curls and wore this awesome green coat. She wears beautiful jewelry and has the most amazing laughter.
It's funny that host attracts so many strong-minded, wonderful women... She has a very positive character and I loved having a laugh with her. I know this might not really interest you, but isn't it great to meet really interesting people? Alright, I am going to skip the task on page 11 for now, as it needs two people and proceed to tasks on page 12 and 13. The first one of really easy and you can find the picture next to the text. I hate being criticised, although I know that criticism, when expressed constructively, is something really good; however, I have been criticised in my life once too often and now I am allergic to it. I don’t know why, but I always seemed to seek friends who constantly criticised me and said my most hated phrase: “But you do know that you could also do it this way”, of course altered to the situation. I hate that phrase because it is so condescending. If I knew I could do it any other, easier way, wouldn’t I do it, so no, obviously I don’t know. Alright the next one is a list about my day: here we go: Today’s Date: 06/11/15 First Thought: “Shit, my father’s calling”. I arranged a Skype talk with my father at nine o’clock UK time, and woke up about five to nine, so that was practically my first thought. Breakfast: Today I went to Costa Coffee instead to Starbucks to avoid the cliché of being a Starbucks author. I had a toffee pie and with it a Fudge Caramel Hot Chocolate. Yeah, it sounds like too much toffee, but believe me, it isn’t. Best Moment: When I rehearsed “Let it go” at home for Sunday’s party for little children where I will dress up as Elsa, and it didn’t sound completely shitty. Favourite TV Show: I watched the Heute Show of ZDF on Youtube and I must say I love and have to correct one thing I always used to say: Some Germans really do have a good sense of humour, and I always have to laugh a lot when I watch this show. Treat: Toffee pie Book: My own, which is nameless yet. I wrote about eight pages today and it the characters start to evolve and develop, which I think is fantastic. This story is about two women: Violet and Maggie. Violet spends her honeymoon in Whitcroft Cliff, England, as he is English. They move into a house which was a part of Whitcroft Manor before the Manor burnt down. Now it is haunted and Violet learns about a woman called Maggie who was deceived and killed by the Duke of Whitcroft in 1850. Challenge: Singing “Let it Go” Pair of Shoes: My Ugg Boots, I have finally given in and bought a pair (a fake pair, obviously, 5 pounds, Primark). I always thought they were ugly because they look like slippers, but they are sooooo comfortable and I love them. Gossip: I don’t talk to people much, so there is no Gossip, but I read online that Rupert grint is going to have his own TV series…does that count as gossip? Best Conversation: I spoke to my father in the morning on Skype and although we didn’t really talk much, it still has to be the best conversation I had today, as it was the only one… Joke: Mh, can’t think of one…oh wait, yes, from the Heute Show, I am going to translate it: There was this talk about the NSA scandal in Germany (it was an old episode) and, it’s not really a joke, but funny, the “experts” on the TV explained how you can make your phone eavesdropping-safe. Switch it off and put it in the fridge…Yeah that’s really helpful. Achievement: Wrote about fifteen pages of my new book (thereby procrastinating the book I should be writing). Best text: My best friend who’s coming over in December texted me that she finally came round to book a hotel. Good Deed: Gave money in the Costa Coffee tip jar. |
